Unique works of Ukrainian artists, in particular Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915-1985), a Ukrainian-born American artist, from the private collection of Christine Staruch (1944-2021). She was known as a supporter and enthusiast of Ukrainian culture in our community. Staruch was born into a prominent Ukrainian family from Podillya, Ukraine. She immigrated to Chicago with her parents after World War II. They opened a gift shop “Delta”, later Christine became the owner of the Rose Gallery, where she organized exhibitions for artists. At this time, when Ukraine needs help, the Staruch family in memory of Christine decided to donate the proceeds from the sale of the inheritance to charitable foundations.
