It is with utmost sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of
Jaroslaw Hankewych,
on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 77 years.
Long time UNM president (2000-2014) and active member of the Ukrainian community.
Jaroslaw Hankewych is survived by his wife Maria, daughters Daria (Danylo) Butenko, Tamara, Ksenia (Matthew) Rakowsky, and his sister, Sister M. Irenea O.S.B.M, He was the beloved grandfather of Larysa and Mykola Butenko and Emilia and Adam Rakowsky. Jaroslaw leaves behind a large extended family in the United States, Canada and Ukraine.
Jaroslaw was born in Zalishchyky, Ukraine (the Miami of Ukraine as he so loving called his birthplace) and immigrated to the United States via Wyern, Germany.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, 11:30 a.m. at
St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral
